what is nutritional therapy?
Nutritional Therapy uses nutrition and health science to promote health, peak performance and individual care, through individually tailored diet and lifestyles programs.
Nutrients and other food components influence the function of the body, protect against disease, restore health, and determine people’s response to changes in the environment. As such diet can be a risk factor for a number of diseases.
Nutritional Therapy treats the body as a whole while seeking the root cause of health concerns, rather than simply treating the symptoms. It promotes the benefits of good, wholesome, unprocessed foods for optimal wellbeing, as well as the therapeutic effects of particular foods for specific health conditions.
It works on the basis that we are individual in our make-up and therefore, ‘one size fits all’ eating plans don't work well for most people.
In Nutritional Therapy I work with individuals, families, schools and companies to help improve health and wellbeing, working with a variety of conditions including Arthritis, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease (high blood pressure, high cholesterol), Hormonal Imbalances (including infertility), Weight Loss, IBS and Digestive Issues, among others.
My approach is to work with whole foods, giving you the tools, tips and confidence to easily incorporate healthy eating into your daily life.
